About Me

Welcome! I’m delighted to introduce myself. My name is Emily Ibrahim. I am a registered associate marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) and a certified substance abuse counselor (CADC III) in Los Angeles, CA.  I received my B.A. in Psychology and Human Development from California State University of Long Beach and my M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University.

Life happens, and it’s often messy and complex! Yet, amidst its challenges, I remain steadfast in supporting my clients. I am dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate the complexities of life, personal well-being, and relationships. I strive to create a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental atmosphere where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

My Approach to Therapy

Grounded and approachable, I bring a down-to-earth demeanor to my therapy practice. I communicate with clarity, honesty, and authenticity, creating a space where clients feel comfortable expressing themselves openly and authentically. My approach is client-centered and integrative, drawing from various therapeutic modalities to tailor our sessions to your unique needs. I specialize in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Attachment-Based Therapy, the Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model (TREM), and Psychodynamic Therapy. Whether you’re facing challenges in communication, intimacy, or navigating life transitions, my goal is to help you gain insights, develop healthy coping strategies, and foster stronger, more fulfilling relationships with others and yourself.

Why I Love What I Do

The complexities of relationships have always fascinated me. Each relationship is a unique tapestry of experiences, emotions, and connections. It is my privilege to assist you in unraveling these complexities, exploring your needs, and finding meaningful ways to connect and communicate with those around you. I am passionate about providing a non-judgmental space where you can feel understood and supported on your journey toward personal and relational well-being. I believe in the transformative power of healing, self-discovery, and personal growth in therapy.

Outside the Therapy Room

When I’m not working with clients, you can often find me immersed in my favorite crafting activities. I find joy and relaxation in embroidery, beading, crocheting, junk journaling, and experimenting with new and different crafts. These creative outlets allow me to express myself and provide a sense of mindfulness and balance in my life. Crafting has taught me the value of patience, attention to detail, and the beauty of creating something unique with my hands.
